Norwich man remanded on weapons charges

A man has been remanded in custody following an incident at a house near Norwich last week.

David Cawston, 45, of Badger Road, New Costessey, was charged with two counts of possession of an air weapon with intent to cause fear or violence.

It followed a stand-off at a house in Costessey which ended on Saturday, after 32 hours of negotiations.

Mr Cawston appeared at the city's magistrates' court and will appear at the crown court on 23 May.

A woman and a man who were also arrested in connection with the incident remain on police bail.
