Student views sought over Norfolk transport costs

Students across Norfolk have been asked for their views on reducing the cost of public transport.

Norfolk County Council wants young people's ideas on how they can bring down prices for over-16s.

The Conservative-run council subsidises students to travel to sixth forms and colleges at a cost of £3.8m a year.

In 2010 they proposed cancelling the subsidy in an effort to save £155m over the next three years, but after consultation abandoned the idea.

A group made up of college and sixth form leaders and council staff was created to look at how transport could be provided more efficiently.
