Train delays after Norfolk level crossing crash

More delays are expected for railway passengers in Norfolk after a crash involving a tractor and a train.

The 10:10 BST Sunday service from King's Lynn to London King's Cross was in collision with a tractor on a level crossing at Saddlebow, King's Lynn.

The tractor driver, a 29-year-old man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn and the train driver was treated at the scene.

The damaged train was still blocking the line on Monday.

About 40 passengers were on the train but none were injured.

First Capital Connect said Network Rail was working to restore power lines which were damaged in the incident.

Buses are replacing trains between King's Lynn and Downham Market until further notice.

Customers have been advised to check the website and allow extra time for their journeys.

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) is investigating the cause of the crash.
