Norwich airport plans to double travel fee from January

An airport which charges passengers £5 every time they fly is to double the fee from January.

Norwich International has defended its decision to charge the £10 which it describes as an airport development fee.

The levy, started in 2005, has contributed to improvements and new facilities worth £14m, managers claim.

The doubling of the charge was necessary to comply with current regulations, it said.
