Man makes off with £100,000 diamond ring in King's Lynn

A thief has stolen a diamond ring worth nearly £100,000 from a jewellers in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The man entered Francis Wain jewellers on Norfolk Street on Tuesday between 1500 and 1515 BST.

He was shown a number of items by a shop assistant and then grabbed the £99,500 ring and ran out.

The ring is described as a Picchiotti white gold ring, with a large emerald cut diamond, surrounded by baguette diamonds.

Det Con Richard Moden said: "This was an audacious theft and I'd ask that any pawnbrokers who are approached with a view to buying the ring contact police immediately."
