Girl hit by car in Norfolk 'stable' in hospital

A 12-year-old girl hit by a car is in a serious but stable condition at a specialist trauma unit at Addenbrooke's in Cambridge, the hospital said.

The East of England Ambulance Service were sent to the crash at Gillingham near Beccles in Norfolk on Friday.

The girl was on foot and had been hit by a car at lunchtime in Loddon Road.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "On our arrival the girl was in a critical condition and taken by ambulance to Addenbrooke's."

The air ambulance was contact but was not needed, Mr Sanderson said.
