Further tests are taking place to find out how a farm worker died following an incident near a Norfolk pub, an inquest has heard.

Lee Goldsmith, 23, of Toft Monks, was pronounced dead in hospital after he was found injured near the village's White Lion pub on New Year's Day.

The inquest, which was opened and adjourned in Norwich, heard initial post-mortem tests were inconclusive.

Two men, aged 38 and 45, have been arrested over the incident.

One of the men is a Norfolk Police officer, who was off-duty. He has been suspended pending the outcome of the inquiry.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating.

Mr Goldsmith's family paid tribute to their "treasured son, brother, uncle and friend".

"He will be greatly missed," his family said in a statement.
