Searches are taking place in a Norfolk village as part of a murder inquiry into the death of a teenager found on the Queen's Sandringham Estate.

The body of Alisa Dmitrijeva, 17, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, was discovered by a dog walker in Anmer, near King's Lynn, on 1 January.

Police inquiries have suggested she was at a party in a beach car park in Snettisham early on 31 August.

Latvian-born Miss Dmitrijeva was reported missing on 6 September.

The last confirmed sighting was made 10 miles away from Snettisham, in King's Lynn, at 00:15 GMT on 31 August.

A Norfolk police spokesman said specialist officers had been brought in to search the car park in Snettisham.

The spokesman said the officers were looking for Miss Dmitrijeva's mobile phone and any other objects that belonged to her.

Det Ch Insp Jes Fry, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We understand there was a party going on involving members of the eastern European community and that she was present at that party."

He appealed directly to members of the Latvian, Lithuanian and Russian communities to come forward.

He said: "As well as sightings of Alisa herself, I am particularly keen to try to find her black LG GM360 mobile phone, or to hear of any sightings in the Kings Lynn and Wisbech area of the bottle green P-registration Lexus GS300 that Alisa was last seen in on 31 August 2011."

Earlier this month, Miss Dmitrijeva's family said their "hearts have been broken in the way Alisa was taken from us" and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Initial post-mortem tests have failed to establish a cause of death.
