Man remanded over police stabbing in Norwich

A 23-year-old man has been remanded in custody over the stabbing of a police officer in Norwich.

Lance Beane was being arrested early on Friday in Thomas Wyatt Close over another alleged offence when an officer received knife wounds to his hands.

Beane, of Primrose Crescent, Thorpe St Andrew, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He appeared before Norwich magistrates on Saturday. The officer was discharged from hospital later on Friday.
