A 62-year-old man has been jailed for 13 years after being convicted of having sexual activity with a woman with learning disabilities.

Peter Howard, of Buckingham Road, Eaton, near Norwich, was found guilty of 12 charges. He was cleared of one count.

Norwich Crown Court heard the abuse happened between February 2008 and April 2011.

Howard was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Det Sgt Lee Diggins, of Norfolk police, said: "Howard preyed on the vulnerability of his victim and showed complete disregard for her welfare.

"The length of this prison sentence reflects the serious nature of these offences and demonstrates that the police and courts will not tolerate this behaviour."
