Norwich medical centre for ex-Wellesley Avenue school site
A medical centre, pharmacy and 14 houses will be built on the site of a former school in Norfolk.
Wellesley Avenue First School, off Plumstead Road in Norwich, has been empty since 2008.
Norwich City Council voted to approve the plans, despite some objections from residents and a preservation trust.
Councillor David Rogers backed the views of the Norwich Society, calling it a "shame" to demolish the school, which was a "glorious artefact".
The plans were approved by five votes to two.
