A 49-year-old man has pleaded guilty to charges linked to the discovery of a suspicious device under a car in a Norfolk village.

Police were called to Coltishall Road, Buxton, on 2 September.

Jonathan Taylor, 49, of Southwell Road, Norwich, admitted doing an act with intent to cause an explosion likely to endanger life.

He also admitted possession of a prohibited weapon and was remanded in custody at Norwich Crown Court.

Sentencing, which is due to take place in January, was adjourned for reports.

Taylor had initially pleaded not guilty in November and was due to stand trial in February.

People had to leave six nearby properties while army bomb disposal officers dealt with the device.
