Norfolk homes have power restored after cables repaired

Power has been restored to about 3,000 homes in Norfolk after engineers repaired transmission cables overnight.

Homes and businesses in the Wymondham and Long Stratton areas were without power for five hours on Monday night.

More cables were brought down later at Silfield and further homes were cut off until 07:00 GMT.

UK Power Networks worked on repairs but said engineers encountered complications and the firm apologised for the delay in restoring supplies.
