A "predatory" sex offender has been jailed for five years after US authorities tipped off British police.

Robert Sadd, 37, of King's Lynn, emailed and exchanged indecent images with girls in the US.

His activities came to light last November when the father of a teenage girl in North America caught her communicating with him.

Sadd, of North Everard Street, admitted a series of sexual offences and was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court.

'Across the world'

A warrant was executed at Sadd's home in March 2012 and thousands of indecent images were found on his computer.

Sadd admitted charges of making an indecent photograph of a child, sexual activity with a child and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing an indecent photograph of a child, possessing a prohibited image of a child and possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Investigators found Sadd had been communicating with, and met, a 15-year-old girl from the London area.

Det Con Tracy Billing, said: "Sadd is a predatory sex offender, taking advantage of modern technology to abuse girls across the world as well as physically in this country. "
