Plans for a £933,000 redevelopment of a market place in King's Lynn have been given the go-ahead.

West Norfolk Borough Council said the work would bring a "continental cafe culture" to the Tuesday Market Place.

The designs will see greater pedestrian access and an open area for activities, events or temporary market stalls.

The work, which is expected to start later in the summer for completion in the autumn, will also see the loss of 50 car park spaces.

Two roads east and south of the square will be pedestrianised, under the scheme.
