A man in his 30s is in hospital after being struck by a car and then stabbed in Norwich city centre.

The attack happened in Cathedral Street just before 22:00 BST on Sunday, said a spokesman for Norfolk Police.

Two men in their 30s were walking along the street when a Ford Focus with three men inside struck them.

The men got out and stabbed one of the victims several times, leaving him with serious injuries to his buttock and shoulder, said Norfolk Police.

Both men were taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The road is closed off while investigations continue.
