A scheme to build 99 homes and a new primary school in a village in Norfolk has been backed by councillors.

Norfolk Homes' plans for land off White Horse Lane, Trowse, near Norwich, were approved by a meeting of South Norfolk Council's development committee.

The scheme for the new homes on agricultural land was opposed by the Trowse parish council

Council officers said in a report that the need for more homes outweighed any harm caused by the development.

The council received 96 letters of objection to the scheme.
