A hospital which closed more than 20 years ago is to be converted into new homes within months.

The 18th Century former Heckingham workhouse, in Hales, is being redeveloped in a £2m scheme.

The Norfolk site, which was sold for an undisclosed sum at auction, has been left derelict and subjected to vandalism.

Developer Lakh Dollay said he expected the "sensitive restoration work" to be completed by the end of the year.
