Three held after man hit by train in Northampton
Three men have been arrested after a man was severely injured when he was struck by a train in Northamptonshire.
British Transport Police said officers were called to the rail line near Church Street in Northampton on Sunday afternoon.
The injured man, a 48-year-old from Dodford, was taken to hospital in Coventry with severe injuries.
A search was made of the nearby area and two men aged 34 and one aged 24 were arrested, police added.
The incident at 1745 BST is being treated as "unexplained" and inquiries to establish how the man came to be on the tracks are on-going.
His condition is described as serious but stable.
