Armed gang hunted over shop raid in Northamptonshire

Four men have carried out an armed robbery in south Northamptonshire.

The gang raided the Bridge Stores in Towcester Road, Old Stratford, at about 2000 GMT on Tuesday.

Three men wearing balaclavas and gloves went into the store and threatened staff. One had a handgun and a second had a long serrated knife.

Cash, cigarettes, a laptop computer and an iPhone were taken. Anyone with any information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police.

Before the incident a man went into and store and asked for directions to Wolverton railway station.

Officers believe he was involved in the incident, a police spokesman said.

Three men are described as in their 20s and of medium build and are thought to be Somalis. The fourth man is described as black, aged in his early 20s, wearing a green jacket.
