Northamptonshire groups invited to bid for cash grants

A fund that has helped boost about 300 community and youth projects across Northamptonshire since 2006 is inviting voluntary organisations to apply for a new round of grants.

Northamptonshire County Council's small grants fund is offering cash injections of up to £10,000.

Cabinet member for children and young people, Andrew Grant, is appealing for groups to apply.

"The youth small grants scheme has proved extremely popular," he said.

"The money has been used to set up hundreds of wide-ranging initiatives and projects benefiting young people.

"The scheme enables local youth work organisations to develop new youth work throughout the county at a local level," he added.

The grant value for each project is set at between £2,500 and £10,000.

The £200,000 small grant fund is divided into four geographic areas with £50,000 available in Northampton, Wellingborough and East Northants, Corby and Kettering, Daventry and South Northants.
