Two teenagers arrested on suspicion of murdering a three-year old boy who died in a fire at his Northamptonshire home have been released without charge.

Callum Bland died when a fire in a wheelie bin swept through his house in Fulmar Lane, Wellingborough in 2007.

The boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested early on Tuesday and questioned at Wellingborough police station.

A police spokesman said the boys would not be charged unless further evidence came to light.

Det Sgt Tony Barsby, of Northamptonshire Police, said: "While these arrests have not led to anyone being charged in connection with Callum's death at this time, we will continue to investigate the case and will always strive to bring those responsible for Callum's death to justice."

Callum's mother Jayne, her partner and three other children escaped the fire.

In December 2008 an inquest into the death recorded an open verdict.
