Northamptonshire bus services examined at roadshows

Roadshows are being held throughout Northamptonshire to give people their say on how to provide public transport at a time of budget cuts.

The county council wants to save about £2m from its £3m-a-year budget for bus subsidies.

Proposed measures include combining traditional bus services, community transport and other services.

People have until 27 May to comment on the plans and details of the roadshows are on the council's website.

Heather Smith, county council cabinet member for highways, said: "People are understandably concerned about the proposals and we hope that these events will help them to better understand what is planned."
