Raid catches seven illegal staff at Wellingborough firm
Seven illegal workers from India and Pakistan have been caught in a UK Border Agency raid in Northamptonshire.
Intouch Mailing on the Park Farm Industrial Estate in Wellingborough was raided on Wednesday morning.
Checks revealed that seven of the 12 members of staff did not have permission to work in the UK.
Five men - aged 54, 40, 35, 25 and 21 - were working in breach of visas and a 40-year-old woman and 30-year-old man had both entered the UK illegally.
The seven offenders now face expulsion from the UK.
The business faces a potential fine of up to £10,000 per illegal worker unless it can prove that the correct pre-employment checks were carried out.
Chief Immigration Officer Andy Dann said: "Employers have a legal responsibility to ensure their foreign staff are entitled to work in the UK.
"There are serious consequences for those who ignore this."
