Drugs seized in police operation in Northamptonshire

An operation to tackle drug crimes in Corby over the past year has seen 12 people arrested and drugs to the value of £7,000 seized.

Northamptonshire Police said over the past year, the Corby Safer Community team had also searched 28 properties and seized about 300 cannabis plants.

It has also closed five cannabis factories.

Insp Gary Williams said: "I am immensely proud of the results being achieved by my staff."

He added: "Through Operation Guardian we will continue to tackle serious acquisitive crime and the compelling links to drug use, which in many cases is the catalyst for such criminality."
