Police stop vehicles in Northampton campaign

Police officers have stopped 44 vehicles in an area of Northampton in a campaign to catch drivers without road tax and insurance.

During the operation in Sixfields, 10 were seized by police.

Of those, eight had no insurance, one had no road tax, and one was being driven illegally.

A further 11 vehicles were held as officers investigated whether drivers had licences. Other vehicles were found not to have broken any rules.

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) also held three vehicles while paperwork was completed.
