Northampton car park row death man died of heart attack

A 55-year-old man who collapsed after a "verbal altercation" with another man in a Northampton car park died from a heart attack, a post-mortem examination has revealed.

David McIntyre McPherson, of Wootton, Northampton, died following the argument in St John's car park on Saturday morning.

A man aged 40 arrested after the incident has been released on bail.

Police are talking to the Crown Prosecution Service about the case.

A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman said: "The preliminary findings indicate that the cause of death was a heart attack and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

"Northamptonshire Police are consulting with colleagues at the Crown Prosecution Service to determine what, if any, further action should be taken."
