Task force to stop child grooming in Northamptonshire

A police team has been set up in Northamptonshire to catch people who groom children on the internet.

Det Insp Dave Warnes, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: "If we can target those individuals online we can make our county a safer place."

Convictions for child sexual exploitation have risen from just three in 2000 to 65 in the county last year.

Det Insp Warnes blamed the increase on the internet and social networking.
