Sainsbury's supermarket plan at cattle market

Sainsbury's has applied to build a supermarket on the site of a cattle market in east Northamptonshire.

The district council said the "major application" for Market Road, Thrapston, involved the demolition of the livestock market.

The cattle market is due to be relocated to the outskirts of the town, under a separate planning application.

The council said the supermarket plan would involve a public consultation, to be announced.
