Hand grenade is found near marina in Northamptonshire
A hand grenade, described by police as "historic", has been found near a marina in Northamptonshire.
Police set up a cordon around Billing Aquadrome on Friday and an explosive ordnance disposal team was called in.
The grenade was found not to be "live" but members of the public were not allowed back on the site in Northampton until late afternoon.
A police spokesman said the grenade posed no threat and a "controlled explosion was not required".
