Cannabis factory in Northamptonshire home 'posed fire risk'
A large cannabis factory found at a house in Northamptonshire posed a serious fire risk to the public, police have said.
Police raided the building in Portland Place, Northampton, on Thursday. More than 500 plants were seized with a street value of more than £150,000.
The mains electric had been bypassed which caused a serious hazard, police said.
A 27-year-old man was arrested at the property on suspicion of drug offences.
A force spokesperson said: "The dangers associated with the commercial production of cannabis were apparent.
"There were signs that small fires had been caused by high voltage cables passing through wood."
