Witness appeal over Wooton woman killed by lorry on M1

Police have renewed an appeal for witnesses after a woman was killed on the M1 between Northampton and Milton Keynes.

The woman, believed to be in her 40s and from Wooton in Northampton, was hit and killed by a lorry while walking in one of the lanes.

The crash happened on Tuesday on the southbound carriageway between junctions 14 and 15 at 10:52 BST.

An inquest is due to be held on Monday 2 April.

Sgt Simon Hills, from Thames Valley Police, said: "It appears that the woman was in lane one of the carriageway at the time she was struck.

"We also found a grey Audi A3 parked on the hard shoulder close to the scene, which we believe belongs to the victim. It has suffered recent damage, but this was not caused by the lorry."
