RSPCA appeal after teenagers hurl kitten into stream

A six-week-old kitten was hurled into a Northamptonshire stream by a group of teenage boys in an "appalling" attack, the RSPCA has said.

Two girls saw the boys throwing the kitten between them and then into the water behind the Academy School off Wellingborough Road, Northampton, on Monday.

The girls went to the water after the boys moved on and rescued the animal.

The RSPCA is appealing for witnesses and information about the kitten.

Insp Michelle Hare said: "I was appalled when I heard what had happened to this poor kitten, and it is just fortunate that these girls were around and managed to rescue it.

"I would like to hear from anyone who may know who this group of lads were, or if anyone knows where this kitten would have come from."

Anyone with information is urged to contact the RSPCA.
