A Northamptonshire holiday park which was evacuated when the River Nene burst its banks last week is to reopen.

Sixty holiday home owners have been in temporary accommodation since the Billing Aquadrome, near Northampton, closed last Thursday.

Peter Angelides, business development director, said the park would reopen at 13:00 GMT on Thursday.

But he said the park remained on flood alert and advised residents to "be prepared" to evacuate again.

Mr Angelides said standing water had made the roads within the park impassable and the clear up operation had been hampered as 36 sewage pumps were disabled by the flooding.
