Panache club staff threatened by disabled knifeman

A man in a wheelchair pulled out a knife after nightclub bouncers in Northampton stopped him from leaving the venue with a bottle of champagne.

Door staff at the Panache club told police the man was aged about 50, 6ft tall, of medium build with shaven grey hair and a large tattoo on his head.

Police are treating the incident at the Bridge Street venue as affray.

Witnesses to what happened in the early hours of Saturday 24 November are being asked to contact police.

The offender was wearing jeans and a white T-shirt and using a red motorised wheelchair.

The incident happened shortly before 02:00 GMT.
