Man dead after car and bin lorry crash on A6 at Burton Latimer
A 65-year-old man has died following a head-on collision between a car and a bin lorry on the A6 in Northamptonshire.
The crash happened at 12:20 GMT at Burton Latimer between the A14 and the A510 Thrapston Road junctions.
The road was closed in both directions for about five hours while Northamptonshire Police and recovery teams attended the scene.
Police said the driver of the lorry was not injured.
The dead man is expected to be formally identified on Tuesday.
The car, a black Ford Mondeo, was travelling towards Kettering and the bin lorry was heading in the direction of Finedon.
