Five remanded after West Bridgford shop robbery

Five Nottingham men have been remanded in custody by magistrates following a robbery at a shop earlier in the week.

The men were charged after staff were threatened at the Co-op on Hilton Crescent, West Bridgford, on Tuesday.

They are Michael Simpson, 50, of Elm Avenue, Anthony Westcarr, 32, of Rosetta Road and Paul Eaton, 32, of Belconnen Road.

Also charged were James Smyth, 31 of Bobbersmill Road and Leon Smart, 23, whose address was not disclosed.

All of the men are expected to appear at a crown court on 30 September.
