Police have appealed for more information on the movements of a car used by a gang who tried to rob a Nottingham Post Office van.

Three men, two black and one white, used a green Volkswagen Passat, R954 ONL, in the armed raid on Beech Avenue at 1145 BST on Wednesday.

It was later found in nearby Herbert Road and police said the gang got into a second vehicle soon afterwards.

Officers asked anyone who saw the car to come forward.

A security guard, who suffered a wound to the leg after one of the offenders discharged a firearm, is now at home with her family.

Detectives also want to trace a number of people who were in a nearby Londis store at the time of the attempted robbery, but who left before officers spoke to them.
