Nottinghamshire Police appeal over Edwinstowe arsonists

Police investigating a series of arson attacks in a Nottinghamshire town say they believe someone in the community knows who is responsible.

Over the past three weeks, three fires have been lit in Edwinstowe, two in an alleyway and one outside a vacant newsagent.

Detectives have linked the incidents and said they believed someone in the community knew the person responsible.

Pc Ian Appleby from Nottinghamshire Police appealed for any witnesses.

"We believe someone in Edwinstowe will know who the offender or offenders are and we would urge them to come forward with that information," said Pc Appleby.

"Starting fires deliberately is not only irresponsible and dangerous but puts lives at risk."

Two boys, aged 16 and 13, were arrested on 25 November in connection with the fires and were released on police bail until later in December.
