Nottingham man faces murder charge over stabbing death

A 48-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder after a stabbing death in Nottingham.

Felix Akhigbe, 35, of Beauvale Road, the Meadows, Nottingham, was found stabbed in Lower Parliament Street just after 0130 GMT on New Year's Day.

He was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre where he later died.

Raymond Iriogbe, from Carlton Road, Nottingham, was remanded in custody after the hearing before Nottingham magistrates.

He will appear in Nottingham Crown Court on 5 January for a further hearing.
