Men bailed over Boxing Day St Ann's shooting

Two men, aged 18 and 24, arrested in connection with the shooting of a man in Nottingham on Boxing Day have been released on police bail.

Damien Meredith, 24, was injured in the head and leg when shots were fired in Westville Gardens, St Ann's.

There have now been a total of nine arrests in connection with the shooting, all are currently on bail pending further inquiries.

Officers have also traced a dark grey Mini seen in the area of the shooting.

A police spokesman said the vehicle was recovered in Nottingham on Wednesday night.

Mr Meredith, who had a bullet removed from his brain, remains seriously ill in hospital.
