Nottingham police raid cannabis farm after tip-off

Cannabis plants with a street value of £65,000 have been discovered during a raid by Nottingham police.

More than 130 cannabis plants - some 7ft (2.1m) tall - were found at an industrial unit on Friday, following a tip-off by a member of the public.

Specialist growing equipment and lighting was also discovered at the unit in Lilac Grove, Beeston Rylands.

Police are carrying out house-to-house inquiries and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Beeston Sgt Steve Robinson said: "This discovery shows how important it is for the public to report any signs of suspicious activity.

"On this occasion we found a sophisticated cannabis grow of over 100 large plants which have a street value of around £65,000."
