Third arrest over St Ann's stabbing

A third person has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in the St Ann's area of Nottingham which left a man with serious injuries.

Police said an 18-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon. Two 13-year-olds arrested on Tuesday remain in custody.

Officers were called to Stonebridge Road at about 2315 GMT where they found a man, 27, with multiple stab wounds.

He remains at the Queen's Medical Centre in a stable condition.

Extra police officers have been patrolling the area to reassure residents.

A large area in St Ann's was cordoned off on Tuesday to allow a detailed search and forensic examination of the scene.

Ch Insp Linda McCarthy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said several people were in the area at the time of the attack and urged anyone with information to contact officers.
