Man charged over Nottingham shooting

A 28-year-old man has been charged over a shooting in Nottingham.

The 21-year-old victim was in The Crescent, Mapperley Park, on Sunday evening when he suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.

Aaron Dyer, 28, of Arkwright Walk, The Meadows, Nottingham, is charged with possession of a firearm without a certificate.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court and was remanded into custody to return to the court later in the month.

Mr Dyer has also been charged with possession of a shotgun without a certificate and possession of a shotgun when prohibited for life.

Two other men, aged 26 and 22, arrested in connection with the shooting, have been bailed pending further inquiries.

The victim has been released from hospital.
