Man charged over Sutton-in-Ashfield McDonalds assault

A 23-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a council patrol officer in a Nottinghamshire fast food restaurant.

The Ashfield District Council community protection officer was attacked in McDonalds, in Priestic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, on Saturday.

The man was charged with common assault and using threatening words or behaviour.

He was released on bail and is due to appear at Mansfield Magistartes' Court on 26 April.

Community protection officers work alongside police beat teams and help tackle anti-social behaviour.
