Police in Nottingham investigate gunshot report

Police in Nottingham investigating reports of a gun being fired have asked anyone with information about what happened to come forward.

Officers were called to Arnold Road in Old Basford at about 0500 BST on 24 April after a member of the public reported hearing gunshots.

Despite no firearms being found or no reports of injuries, witnesses saw an argument between two groups of people.

Police have asked anyone at the nearby Umoja Klub to contact them.

Det Ch Insp Rob Griffin from Nottinghamshire Police said: "While no one has actually seen a gun being fired, we are taking this incident extremely seriously.

"We know there were some 200 people at a club night in Arnold Road and we believe some of them were those involved in the argument outside."

Anyone with information has been asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police.
