Names of soldiers added to Southwell memorial
The names of 18 servicemen from both world wars that had been missing from a Nottinghamshire war memorial have been added during a special ceremony.
The Southwell branch of the Royal British Legion discovered the names of the solders were missing while doing research at Southwell Minster.
Researcher Richard Gregory said it was a "wonderful feeling" to have the names added to the Southwell memorial.
The addition of the names was marked in a wreath-laying ceremony earlier.
The Royal British Legion is also hoping to add about 100 missing names to another war memorial at Hucknall in Nottinghamshire.
The legion is working with Ashfield District Council and the War Memorials Trust to find the funding to update the memorial.
