Police have been granted more time to question two men in connection with the death of a man attacked outside a Nottinghamshire pub.

Jonathan Turner, 27, from Forest Town in Mansfield, was assaulted outside The Social in Stockwell Gate in the town at about 0400 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to King's Mill Hospital but died on Sunday morning.

Two 22-year-old men remain in custody and are being questioned. A third man was released without charge.

Results of a post-mortem examination revealed Mr Turner died as a result of a head injury.

Officers said Mr Turner's parents were with their son at his hospital bedside when he died.
