Nottingham soldier attack: Two men remanded in custody

Two men have appeared in court accused of affray and causing grievous bodily harm after a soldier's jaw was broken in an unprovoked attack.

The 19-year-old man, who was on leave in Nottingham, was assaulted on Clumber Street at about 0230 BST on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital with a broken jaw and eye injuries, police said.

Aaron Winfield, 18, of Broxtowe Lane, Broxtowe, and Luke Stone, 21, of South Snape Close, Bulwell, were remanded in custody by magistrates in Nottingham.
