Arrest after death of Leicester baby girl

A man has been arrested following the death of a 10-month-old girl in Leicester.

Police were called to the Leicester Royal Infirmary after the baby, Taliqa Fields, was taken into the hospital on Friday. She died the following day.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death and has since been released on police bail.

Officers said they were awaiting further tests to find out the circumstances of the child's death.

They added that inquiries were continuing and they were speaking to people in the Stocking Farm and Beaumont Leys areas of the city.
